Notes on the APP
The app appeals to users who, in addition to the Verkehr.NRW website, want simplified access to traffic information and, in particular, frequent users who want direct access to different views, routes and means of transport. Users who mainly need a map view call up the app's settings (gear wheel at the top left of the home page) and set a map view as the app's start screen. Otherwise, the app starts with the selection list of saved map views and the information from the NRW traffic department.

The app allows you to save any number of map views locally in the app: be it the way to work, the corresponding bus connection or the bike ride for next Sunday.

The procedure is very simple: you call up the map and set your desired view (with or without a route). By clicking on "Save" (top right of the map) this view is saved and appears under the selected name in the list. If necessary, you can also integrate external websites here, for example to have direct access to alternative traffic information. Under the question mark (?) you can read about this process in the app.

In order to receive current traffic information based on the latest maps, the app requires internet access. Would you like to see your own location on the map? Then allow the location query.

Verkehr.NRW provides all information in real time, free of charge and absolutely free of advertising. The map material is publicly available and is regularly updated. Neither personal data nor location data are collected.

Verkehr.NRW was created by the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia to provide road users with the best possible information on the current traffic situation. Verkehr.NRW is operated by the Landesbetrieb Straßenbau NRW.

The information focus is North Rhine-Westphalia. However, the traffic situation is available for all of Germany and for the BeNeLux countries. It extends from Flensburg to Munich and from Brussels to Berlin. The indication of loss times and tendencies is particularly helpful. As a road user, you can decide whether it is worth avoiding a traffic jam.

With Verkehr.NRW, road users are informed as well as possible, they can better adapt to the current traffic situation and thus avoid one or the other traffic jam.
